SUGPIAQ KitchenCru Debuts Alaskan Seafood Dinners and Sales
Alaskan Eskimo Fishery Chooses Portland for Events and Sales Location
PORTLAND, July 7th, 2011 – Sugpiaq, an Alaskan Eskimo Fishery, has chosen the Pearl District’s KitchenCru to be its first lower forty-eight location for special event dinners and retail sales. Sugpiaq is known for supplying the highest quality seafood out of Alaska – clients have included Wolfgang Puck, Alex Stratta, Charlie Trotter, and other notable chefs. Sugpiaq’s goal is to interact with the public directly through special events, unique dinners and group seafood orders, while electing to be responsible and accountable for its quality from the fishing vessel to the end-user clients.
KitchenCru is a shared-use community kitchen and culinary incubator who also has multiple event spaces that range from a bar that seats 10 people, a private dining area that seats up to 40 people and park side parking lot which can host an outdoor tent party for up to 100 people.
“SUGPIAQ is our company name and our brand; we chose not to differentiate since we feel it would be disingenuous to our heritage and clients,” Said Isabella Blatchford, President. “For most, seafood is an industry; to me, to Sugpiaq, it is our lifestyle, heritage and culture. We are stewards of our Alaskan waters and Sugpiaq is an authentic, genuine Eskimo seafood company.”
Sugpiaq only harvests and sells Alaskan ocean wild caught seafood. Its bounty includes different species of salmon, whitefish and crab, along with scallops, shrimp, roe and cheeks.
Sugpiaq’s first dinner is scheduled for Saturday, July 23rd, 2011. Please reserve your table at: SUGPIAQPDX@PDX.COM
